Summary:

In Norris’s (2009) article, “Jobs Vanish” he asserts that the economic recession has a negative influence on the private sector. Then he says that the last reports indicate this recession has affected employment as was the worse one that happened after World War II. Consequently, low private sector led to rising unemployment. Also the difficulty obtaining exact figures of unemployment led to a lack of knowledge of correct figures of jobs that were offered by employers. Recently, reports indicate the reduceing of the opportunities of employment due to contraction of the private sector.

Reaction:

In my opinion, the problem of decline in private sector is common in the world, especially in less developed countries . Because financial crisis that happened in America and Western Europe, many banks have bankruptcy, companies have been closed, and lots of people have been laid off from their jobs . In addition, this situation has a negative effect on people’s lives and makes them concerned about their lives. Moreover, most governments attempt to get a solution for this problem. So governments should try to provide assistance for people who lost their jobs and support businesses which have bad conditions.

Summary:

In this article, the author says that there are some self employment ideas that can be useful for everyone. By using certain self employment ideas, many people can create new career chances that will let them work at home . Then he says that sometimes it is hard to find freelance jobs in a specific field but it is possible with these ideas. Also, the author suggests that people who want to work at home should create a professional site web that will give other people some information about their services and rates. Through email and professional sites web owners’ jobs at home can offer their services for everyone around the world.

Reaction:

In my opinion, some people prefer working at home to working at the office, and they would like to be free from rules of offices. As a result of the development of communication networks, people who want to work at home can offer their services by creating new professional web sites. In addition, everyone around the world can have access to a lot of information by visiting these web sites. It is possible in some countries that have developed communication, such as developed countries; however, it may be impossible in less developed countries that suffer underdevelopment and poverty. I think that working at home is a successful idea and the best way to lower unemployment in some countries. So governments should create opportunities for the success of these functions.
